Spring Thaw

The ice is finally beginning to melt. Oh, there's no ice out-of-doors, mind you, I'm considering the internal landscape. The trigonometric tide is out. While it's low I'm placing new variables into the equation to delay or prevent a future face slap.

Yesterday I harvested some of our winter beets. I put in some new beet and chard seeds, some seed potatoes, then weeded the adjacent bed in preparation for some pending plantings. Carrots, maybe. It is good for me to plant and harvest.

I've found a yoga class to start... now if I'd just go. Calm breathing, increased blood flow, you know, all those calm, healing kinds of things. Today I'll head to the farmer's market to pick up some oranges and more chard. (Honestly, the amount of chard this household consumes is really anomalous.)

Maybe I'll even paint.
