field trip

Early in the month I went on a trip with a friend to see the wildflowers in Death Valley.  We spent two days in Death Valley, one in the Mojave, and and then lolly-gagged our way home.  The natural variety was remarkable, the company superb, and the weather compliant.  Here's a photo from each day of the trip!

Tuesday:  just outside Death Valley National Park

Wednesday: golden poppies along Jubilee Pass in Death Valley

Thursday: broken glass from an installation art piece near Rhyolite, NV

Friday: ricegrass near the Kelso Dunes at Mojave National Park

Saturday: a honey bee in the gardens at Mission Santa Barbara

Sunday:  Sand dollars and mussel shells at Morro Bay
